Beginners’ Courses in Archery

Our ever popular beginners courses are now full for 2018, however we have yet to set the dates for the 2019 season. Please keep an eye on this page, Facebook and Twitter or drop us a message on our contact us page for our upcoming 2019 course dates.

Below are the dates for 2018, and details of how to book a place on the courses for beginners in Archery; as each course fills, it will be marked on this site as ‘Full’. Should a place open up at the last minute, this will be offered to the next person on the waiting list. Please be aware that this could be very short notice but if we have your phone number we will call you in order to give you as much notice as we can.

NB: On the above course, there will be a two breaks due to a competition and a coaches course being run at the club.

Please note that the above Sunday courses are not run during normal club times, this means that there will be no regular club members present.

How to book

To request a place/s on a course please contact us and we will inform you of the next available course. You will be asked for some information about yourself and any others wishing to take part in a course, including full name, date of birth (under 18’s only) and contact information.

A £10 per person, non-returnable deposit is required to secure a place on the course. These places fill rapidly, and your placement will not be confirmed until the deposit has been received. Places are secured on a first come, first served basis. The £50 remaining balance is then to be paid upon the commencement of your course, this can be in the form of a cheque (made payable to Llandaff City Bowmen), cash, or bank transfer.

Deposits are preferably paid via a PayPal link which will be emailed to you, but we also accept cheques (address for posting available by email request), or BACS (information on request).

About the course

The course consists of a total of 12 hours teaching, given in 2-hour sessions over 6 consecutive weeks. You will be taught by qualified Archery GB licensed coaches who are DBS (CRB) cleared. All equipment is supplied and a certificate is presented on successful completion. Saturday sessions are primarily for juniors, but adults may also apply. Juniors may also apply for the any of the other courses if Saturday is inconvenient.

The minimum age for joining our club or beginners’ courses is 8 years old.
PLEASE NOTE: All children under 16 MUST be accompanied by a parent, guardian or a responsible adult at all times whilst on club premises.

Completion of the course allows full membership to Llandaff City Bowmen, or an alternative archery club (subject to that club’s approval). For more information on membership, click here.
